Potential equalization for slot - safety in electrical installations

Potential equalization for slot 8 – secure electrical connection without pretreatment

The potential equalization for slot 8 enables a reliable conductive connection between aluminium profiles and thus ensures a continuous protective conductor connection in frame constructions – without additional drilling or removal of the anodised layer.

By being installed directly into the profile groove, the anodized layer is penetrated at specific points, creating a reliable electrical contact. Ideal for machine and plant constructions with ESD requirements or for implementing electrical safety standards.

Compatible with 8 mm slot profiles in 30 mm and 40 mm grids (e.g., suitable for ASPI and ASPB systems). Packaging unit: 10 pieces – ideal for standards-compliant, safe, and efficient frame and enclosure constructions in industrial environments.

What is potential equalization?

Equipotential bonding is an important measure in electrical installations. It ensures that different electrical components have the same potential, reducing the risk of voltage differences. This not only increases safety but also optimizes the functionality of electrical devices. The effects of overvoltages and disturbances can be effectively neutralized, which is why proper equipotential bonding is essential.

How does the potential equalization for Nut work?

Equipotential bonding refers to the connection of metallic components within an electrical installation. These components are connected to each other via special terminals and conductors to ensure a short and secure connection. In the event of a fault, the current can be safely dissipated through this bonding conductor, preventing damage or even dangerous situations. This practice is particularly important in areas where sensitive machinery and equipment are installed.

Why is potential equalization so important?

Proper equipotential bonding is crucial because it not only protects people but also prevents damage to machinery. In production facilities and when using household appliances, dangerous electrical disturbances can occur without proper bonding. Equipotential bonding therefore not only prevents but also ensures the safe operation of electrical devices. It is thus an indispensable component of every electrical installation.
