What are hinges used for in profile construction?

For rotating connections on doors, flaps, covers and hoods – stable, repeatable, low-maintenance.

What types of hinges are there?

Standard hinges, heavy-duty hinges, torque/friction hinges (self-holding), locking hinges, concealed/internal and 3D adjustable hinges.

Are the hinges compatible with common profile systems?

Yes, they are designed for common systems (e.g. Item and Bosch Rexroth) and fit slot 6/slot 8 in the 30/40 grid as well as matching accessories such as T-nuts and angles.

What materials are available and when should I use which one?

Zinc die-cast (universal, inexpensive), steel (high load), stainless steel (corrosion-resistant, food/outdoor), plastic/PA (lightweight, low noise).

What opening angle is possible?

Typically 90–180°, depending on the model up to 270°. Please refer to the product specifications.

How do I determine the load capacity?

Load capacity applies per hinge. For doors/flaps: at least 2 hinges; for heavy loads or large lever arms, plan for a third.

Are there left/right-specific hinges?

Many can be mounted on either side. Some (e.g., concealed ones) are available in left/right versions – please select the variant.

How are hinges attached to profiles?

Screws can be inserted through through holes or directly into the profile groove via adapters/T-nuts; drilling pattern according to data sheet.

Are there hinges with adjustable friction/detent?

Yes, torque or detent hinges hold the flap in position – ideal without a gas spring.

Are corrosion-resistant solutions available?

Yes, stainless steel or anodized versions are available; stainless steel is recommended for outdoor/humid conditions.
